In her art Ritva Kangasperko wants to inspire the potential, talents and opportunities that we humans have – the goodness of the world. She wants to show our magical connection to the animals, birds, nature and the universe. Her figurative and narrative painting approach gives Ritva an unlimited number of options to show this all.
Ritva’s art is about visions, images and stories that she must tell. Often based on imaginary scenarios or her dreams. It is about letting imagination to fly. Ritva wants to create uplifting and fun images - hoping to make you smile. When her artwork is whimsical, there is still a message. And there is always a story. Her art comes from the heart. It is about the joy of life.
While Ritva is a traditional painter, her process is spontaneous, intuitive, easy and free of rules. The materials and technique are important to her, but her process itself is not analytical or logical.
The reality is often a bit different in Ritva’s paintings than the one we experience in everyday life. This is why some of her arts are classified as visionary / outsider art.
All Ritva’s paintings are original one-of the-kind artworks created by human hand and mind without digital tools. She is a full-time painter and a printmaker. She is not a digital artist.
